How the appointment goes

Unbox and connect

We set up the device, connect it to your Wi-Fi, printer and screen and create the user account.
Transfer data

Documents, photos, music, bookmarks, e-mail accounts and passwords move from the old device to the new one. Also from Windows to Mac and back.
Programs and protection

Office, browser, printer drivers, antivirus and everything you use daily. Updates run through, startup gets tidied.
Explain and old device

We show you what has changed. On request we wipe the old device securely so you can sell or hand it in.

How long it takes and what it costs

From our appointments since June: 30 minutes to three hours, usually two. A follow-up for remaining questions takes half an hour.

What we do not do here

We do not replace parts or solder. A device with a failed drive or a broken screen belongs in a repair shop, and we tell you honestly when that is the case.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to buy the computer beforehand?

No. Purchase advice is free, and on request we bring the device to the appointment, bought in your name from the retailer.

Can files get lost during the transfer?

We copy, we do not move. Everything stays on the old device until you have seen that everything is on the new one.

Can programs be carried over if I no longer have the licence key?

Often yes: many licences are tied to your account with the vendor. We find out which ones, and sort out the rest together.

How long does setting up a new laptop take?

Usually two hours including data transfer. With a lot of photos we keep copying in the background while explaining the device to you.

What does home computer setup cost?

85 EUR per hour, a typical appointment with data transfer is around 170 EUR, plus call-out from 10 EUR. All prices include VAT.
